Reality Aside NEWS We exhibited Spin 1/2, our science-themed touring show, at the New York State PTA Conference in Saratoga Springs on November 13-15, 2009. It was our first trade show and we learned plenty. There is a lack of arts-crossing-into-academics, especially in public school systems throughout the state. Parents were excited to see our offer of something unusual. We plan attendance at similar conferences in 2010, including the Science Teachers Association of New York State and the Advocacy for Gifted and Talented Education in NYS (AGATE.) In addition to a valuable networking opportunity, the PTA conference offered us indispensible lessons on the beauty of a New England drive in autumn, how much you can reasonbly charge for a bagel and cream cheese, and the power of luring people to your booth with free Hershey bars. |
